In our many years serving the Charlotte NC area I am always amazed that some homeowners can get duped into thinking gutter guards are the "end all be all" when it comes to gutter cleaning and or roof cleaning. Sometimes this is not the case. We recently did a gutter/roof cleaning for a home owner in Charlotte. While the guards do provide some protection for debris getting inside the gutter, they often do very little to prevent the pile up of leaves on the roof shingles as pictured here. Leaving the leaves on your roof for an extended period of time is a recipe for disaster. This creates moisture and lack of sunlight which will produce a fungus on the shingles detracting years from the life of the roof. Moral of the story, gutter guards or not.. keep an eye out for the valleys on your roof... if there is a leaf build-up, give us a call. 704-401-8255
